smashed beer bottles and lots of wind

A stiff northeast wind pushed the water into the Sound and swept the lower half of the beach clean and smooth. It also propelled me further along the beach than I usually walk - a mile, almost all the way to Oakleigh Ave. But it was hard work coming back against the gale. I'll start with some pleasant images, then show some of the trash - including lots of broken beer bottles. Despite the wind and the trash it was a wonderful walk - no vehicles, and at the western end, almost no vehicle tracks either.

I collected a bucketful and a bagful of trash

This was left a couple of days ago by a middle-aged couple who were, ahem, "napping" on a blanket next to their vehicle, surrounded, rather unromantically, by "other peoples'" garbage
