diapers, trash, ruts, but also beauty

Let's start with the beauty.

Next, the ruts. Because the beach at the easternmost wreck got eroded by Jose, more and more vehicles are now going behind the dunes. The beachfront property beyond the wreck is owned by the Peconic Land Trust, who don't seem to care about the damage to the vegetation behind the dune line. Already there's trash accumulating there, at least before I picked it up.

In the above photos you can see where the vehicles now leave the beach and go behind the dune-line.

this is where some of them emerge

but others are starting to go further

here's some of the trash I collected

including this loaded diaper

and these items

and of course even more ruts

Red-handed!

This morning I documented the trash I found in 2 patches just east of the wrecks. As it happens, I had droned this area of the beach in the late afternoon - here are the results, the likely culprits. They had already scattered beer cans where i found them. They probably arrived in the white pick-up truck visible in the background.

2 bad patches of trash

most of today's trash was in 2 patches of trash just before the first wrecks. I collected these 3 bagfuls

and filled half a contractor bag
