Despite all my efforts over 5 months, there seems to be more trash than ever. Partly this reflects the fact that as beach vehicular traffic steadily increases, I am retreating more behind the dune line, where years of trash have accumulated. But also as the leaves fall more of the ground, and its burden of garbage, is revealed.
The beach west of Roanoke Point in Riverhead, Long Island is magnificent - but in trouble. In this blog I document the good, the bad and the ugly.
